intro
What Cervito does and why we built it
The product, in plain language. What it answers, what it refuses, and who it's for.
A growing online store has roughly three options when it wants to help visitors find the right product without staffing a 24/7 live chat:
-
Install a generic chat widget — cheap, deployable in five minutes, and pattern-matches on about five keywords. Useful for FAQ-shaped questions. Useless for “what should I get my dad who’s getting into pour-over.”
-
Install one of the enterprise AI suites — capable, expensive, locked behind a sales call, and gates the actually-useful features behind a five-figure annual contract.
-
Hire a human — best in class for nuance, slowest to scale, and impossible across timezones.
We started Cervito because the gap between option 1 and option 2 is enormous, and almost nothing useful lives in it.
What Cervito does
A visitor lands on your storefront. They open the widget. They ask a question in natural language — in any of 44 languages, with proper grammatical gender and locale-correct currency. Cervito:
- Retrieves matching products from your real catalog. Not a guess. Not a generic web crawl. The actual products you sell, with the actual prices and variants.
- Generates a response that’s grounded in your store’s policies, your coaching notes, and the merchant’s own coaching feedback over time.
- Refuses to invent. If you don’t carry the V60-Pro Ceramic, Cervito will say so and offer the closest thing you do carry.
- Routes to a human when it’s unsure — with the full conversation context preserved, so the human picks up where the AI left off instead of starting over.
What Cervito refuses to do
The “refuses” list is shorter but more important than the “does” list.
- Refuses to recommend products that don’t exist. Every recommendation is filtered against your live catalog before it leaves the server.
- Refuses to pretend it knows your return policy if you haven’t told it. Better to say “let me check with a person” than to make something up.
- Refuses to read other merchants’ data. Every query is tenant-scoped at the database layer. The coaching notes for shop A never leak into the prompts for shop B.
- Refuses to claim conversions it can’t measure. Attribution runs five models side-by-side; if they disagree, the dashboard says so honestly instead of picking the most flattering one.
Who it’s for
If you’re getting more visitors than your team can greet by hand, and a catalog worth knowing cold, Cervito is built for you. Too small and a basic widget is probably fine; very large and you’re into custom-build territory anyway.
Pricing is simple: one plan with every feature included, plus a custom offer if your setup needs something different. We don’t gate attribution, coaching, debriefs, or human handoff behind a higher tier; those are the product, not upsells.
What’s coming
More platforms: Magento is in build, with others to follow. More language depth. Deeper analytics on which conversation patterns predict revenue. A partner program for agencies. We’ll post what we ship, and what we choose not to, here.
If any of this sounds interesting, the fastest way to evaluate Cervito is to request an invite. The founder onboards you personally, usually within a day, and gets Sarah live on your store.
