What a shift looks like: 44 languages, voice, and knowing when to say nothing

Cervito TeamJuly 28, 2026

A good sales associate does three things a storefront usually can't. She speaks to you in your own language. She notices where you are standing. And she knows when to say nothing. Cervito's associate works your floor around the clock. Here is what a shift looks like.

She speaks the shopper's language, and listens

She answers in the shopper's own language, across 44 of them, detected from the browser with no setup at your end. Not just the replies: every message, button, nudge, and heading arrives in that language, so nothing switches back to English halfway through a conversation.

Shoppers can also speak instead of typing. On browsers with built-in speech recognition the words appear as they talk, and for the rest, our own private transcription is rolling out now, with audio discarded the moment it is transcribed and never stored. Someone shopping one-handed on a phone will ask out loud what they would never stop to type.

She knows where the shopper is standing

She opens differently depending on where a shopper actually is: on a product page, in a collection, or looking at their cart.

She can start the conversation at the moments that matter, too. Just after something goes into the basket, she may offer the piece that genuinely goes with it, or say how much more is needed for free delivery. When a shopper comes back for a second look at something they left open, she offers help. On the basket page, if you have written a short returns or delivery note, she answers with your wording right there, no chat window needed.

Where a question would land better as a choice, a nudge can offer two specific options to tap instead, starting in English.

She looks like part of your shop

The launcher carries live, useful state rather than a static badge: free-shipping progress, drawn as a ring that fills as the basket approaches your threshold, and the number of items in it.

When a shopper is torn between two products, comparison cards give them scannable key points and a clear verdict rather than two towers of prose. And there are twelve professional associate portraits to choose from, so the person on your floor looks like she belongs to your brand.

What she won't do

There is a version of all of this that converts better this quarter and costs you the customer next year. A countdown that resets on refresh. A “12 people are viewing this” counter attached to nothing. A dismiss button placed where a thumb will miss it.

We didn't build those. Every claim she makes is tied to real data from your store: real stock, real prices, real thresholds, the policies you wrote yourself. When the data doesn't support a message, she says nothing instead.

The same rule covers what a shopper can ask her for. They can ask to be told if a price drops, or for a summary of the conversation by email. Both are yours to switch on, and stay off until you do.

You see all of it in Engagement Health: what she is doing on the floor, and whether shoppers find her helpful, measured against a real holdout. A number with no control to compare it against is a story, not a measurement.
